North Ridge Families,
I hope the first week of school was a success for you and your child(ren). We had a great week minus Thursday’s change in our new schedule. Below are updates for this week at North Ridge Elementary.
WCPSS Sign-in Application
Please be prepared to check into the Wake County Visitor Management System each time you enter the building. You will need to have your phone and photo ID readily available. There are QR Codes outside our front doors. Please scan the code and follow the prompts to begin the sign in process. Once cleared, ring the doorbell, state your name and ask for access to the building. Report directly to the kiosk in the reception area to retrieve your Visitor Badge. You may then make your way to the reception desk and we will help you from there.
Please DO NOT enter the building unless you have been verbally cleared by the front desk to do so.
If you do not have access to your phone, please ring the doorbell and let us know you need to sign into the kiosk directly. Please then report directly to the kiosk to sign in.
Please make sure to give yourself ample time to complete these steps. They are required of all visitors, regardless of reason for visit.
Thank you for your patience as we navigate this new system alongside you.
Volunteer Sign up
Are you thinking of volunteering at school, hoping to chaperone a field trip or helping out in a classroom? Be sure to complete the volunteer application: https://www.wcpss.net/domain/42. This is to be completed yearly and now can be done at your home. Please contact the front office if you have any questions.
Academics
Are you interested in learning more about AIG or have a student in 2-5 grade and wonder about identification. Click on the link to see presentation times virtual and in-person from Mrs. Sollars to learn more about the AG Identification process.
Math Enrichment Parent Volunteers
Grade levels are looking for parent volunteers that are interested in reviewing math enrichment lessons in preparation for meeting with flexible math groups once a week. Our goal is to have one or two math enrichment parent volunteers for each grade level. This would allow for parents to share the commitment. A virtual information session will be held on Wednesday, September 13th from 10:00-10:30. Please join us via this Google Meet code meet.google.com/dhp-rfrw-gqq to learn more about this volunteer opportunity. If you have any questions, please email Sarah Durst at sdurst@wcpss.net or Meghan Sollars at msollars@wcpss.net. We appreciate your consideration!
Welcome Back!! If you are able to donate items for our STEAM enrichment that would be wonderful! A drop off box is located in the front office. Thank you so much for the donations you have already provided! Take care, ~Meghan Sollars

Please check out resources at https://sites.google.com/wcpss.net/northridgestudentservices/home?pli=1 and feel free to contact your child’s classroom teacher or one of our counselors if you have any questions or would like assistance.
