Behavior Universal Screener 

Our district is using the research-based screening tool Behavior Intervention Monitoring Assessment System-2, or BIMAS-2 (pronounced BYE-mahs two).

We have been phasing in the screener since 2019. All WCPSS schools will be screening students by 2025.North Ridge students will be participating in the upcoming weeks. Here is the opt out form that you are able to complete if you would prefer not to have your child participate. SSA Single Subject Acceleration

Single Subject Acceleration (SSA) - What is SSA?

SSA is the practice of placing a student in a higher-grade level in ONE subject area. This type of acceleration is for the purpose of providing access to appropriately challenging learning opportunities in either math OR English/Language Arts. Only students who are currently enrolled and attending a WCPSS school during the open nomination and testing window are eligible to be considered for SSA.

How can I learn more about the SSA process and what it entails?

There will be both an in-person session and a virtual session available. A recording of the session will be provided if you are unable to attend either session.  

Informational Sessions for North Ridge ES:

• In-Person Session: Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 8:45-9:15 a.m. The meeting will take place in the AIG Classroom-Upstairs Room 2013

• Virtual Session: Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 9:45-10:15 a.m.

• Recorded Informational Session will be available the week of March 10th on the NRE AIG website located under the SSA Information section.

When can I nominate my student for SSA?

Nominations for the SSA program are from March 20 - March 24, 2023. If you are interested in your student taking the test to see if they qualify for SSA please fill out the form below. Please note the form will only be available from 3/20-3/24 and the deadline to submit the form is 3/24.

When will the SSA test be given to my student?

The SSA test will be given during the testing window of April 18 - May 3, 2023.
