September 26 - 30 Updates

 North Ridge Families, 

I hope that this email finds you well! Below are some updates and reminders to support our school family!

Student Arrival: 

We have come to that time of year where our students are able and expected to walk to their classrooms on their own or with a peer (or sibling). We ask that parents drop off their students at the front door. If you need to connect with the teacher, please send an email or leave a message at the front desk. 

Lunch with your child: 

We are excited to have visitors and have families connecting with their children. If you are planning to have lunch with your child, you will need to sign them out at the front desk and there are many spaces outside of our front entrance that you can spend lunch with your child. 

Open House: September 29th: 

• 5:30-6:00 AIG Parent Session: Media center 

• 6:00-6:30 Session 1: in the classrooms 

• 6:40-7:00 PTA meeting: in the multipurpose room

• 7:10-7:40 Session 2: in the the classrooms 

Behavior Expectations

We are continuing to work on our school-wide behavior expectations for our school family. We are expecting all students to exhibit

• Calm Bodies 

• Just Right Voices

• Respectful Choices

Volunteering at North Ridge

Are you interested in volunteering at North Ridge or another WCPSS school? You will need to update (or complete) the registration process at a Wake County School. Please visit our front office to complete the application, there is a second step in the process that will involve you responding to an email that is sent from the site.  We look forward to your support!

I hope that your child(ren)’s first few weeks have been successful! We are continuing to try and help our students get into a routine and be part of a safe learning environment that is conducive to creating world changers! Below are some updates and ways to assist in that environment.

Wear your favorite fall color this Thursday! 

Daily Message: 

Everyday I send out a short video (3-5 minutes) to the school that showcases the hard work of the students, short update from me, and things that are going on in the school. There are pictures of students and short videos. This video stays within the school community and is unlisted and shared via YouTube.

Week of September 6-10

 North Ridge Families, 

I hope that your child(ren)’s first week of school was a success! We are excited for today to have all of North Ridge students in school! Below are some updates and logistical information to support a successful school year. 

AIG Information Sessions for Fall 2022

We are excited to have Ms. Sollars as our AIG Teacher! Click on the link below to get more information about 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade AG Services and her website to provide more information - AIG Information 

 

Transportation: 

Be sure to use the Carpool lane for carpooling, please don’t park and walk over from the surrounding streets. Also be sure that if you have a change in your transportation, please contact the teacher or if it is after the day starts, call the front office. 

Before and After School Care: 

We are in the process of adding additional staff members to our After Care program, unfortunately we currently have more students that are in need for After Care then the number of staff that are currently working the program based on state staff:student ratio. If you have completed your application, but have not heard back from after school care, they are creating a wait list. 

Breakfast and Lunch - reminder that breakfast and lunch is not free for all students this year. If you want your child to have breakfast and lunch be sure to have them bring money or add money to their account via https://www.myschoolbucks.com/ver2/getmain?requestAction=home. If you need financial assistance please contact our cafeteria manager Ms. Davis (ddavis4@wcpss.net)
